I’ve already chosen a solar installer… so what does ORKA do?

ORKA is a commercial solar loan provider with deep experience in the renewable energy finance space. We partner with reputable solar installers to provide a technology-led financing experience for the modern business owner. There’s currently a significant gap in clean energy financing options for businesses that don’t want to use their cash reserves for a solar project. Savvy businesses and organizations often prefer to make monthly payments and save money rather than manage a large capital outlay all at once, and that’s when solar installers engage with ORKA as their trusted finance partner.

Are ORKA’s lending decisions really as quick and painless as I’ve heard?

Yes. Most customers receive near-instant decisions, depending on the requested loan amount. Our underwriting process is generally completed within two seconds to two days, and our software platform accomplishes this with little to no paperwork required from a borrower. Unlike a traditional bank experience, we think commercial solar financing really doesn’t need to be that complicated.

Will ORKA finance batteries or other energy upgrades with my solar system?

Yes! If it’s related to the solar system, we can finance it in one convenient loan. In addition to the solar system, ORKA loans can be used to finance energy storage systems (batteries), EV charging, energy management, electrical work, roof work, or structural upgrades related to the solar system. One simple loan for one project just makes sense to us!

Will my rates change?

No. ORKA’s loans are designed to be simple and straightforward for borrowers. The interest rate will never change and is set for the full term once the loan agreement is in place. Even if the loan re-amortizes or interest rates go up in the broader market, the rate on your ORKA solar loan will remain the same. And customers who opt to may their monthly loan payments by ACH receive a reduction in their interest rate.

Are there any penalties for paying off the loan early?

No. We never understood why banks liked to penalize customers for paying off their loans early. At ORKA, there are no prepayment penalties on any solar loan. And we offer customers the option to re-amortize their loan yearly at no penalty, to further reduce the monthly payment.

Do I have to make a down payment to get started?

No. Most businesses like the idea of going solar for “no money down”, and the ORKA loan program supports that. No down payment is required, though a customer can certainly borrow less than the full amount of the project.

Is my contractor legit?

ORKA goes to great lengths to ensure we’re working with the best of the best. No company is perfect, but we know that our contractors (like ORKA) are committed to providing an exceptional solar experience. If you have questions about your contractor, feel free to reach out to someone at ORKA, we’re happy to field any questions or concerns. And of course we also love hearing about the great work that our contractor and developer partners are doing for you.

Is a loan the best option for “going solar”?

Direct ownership of your solar system is most often the best path for businesses and organizations to save the most money. Unlike leases or PPAs, when you own your solar system the economic incentives like federal tax credits, depreciation benefits, and local or utility rebates flow directly to you. For most, it’s not feasible or preferable to make a big upfront payment, and that’s where ORKA comes in. We help make solar ownership easy and affordable through our no money down loans, and help customers maximize their potential savings.
